Link to BC Professional Standards
The purpose of the Professional Standards document is to highlight the importance of the many attributes teachers must possess in order to ensure all students are receiving an equal and inclusive education. The document is to provide a set of standards that are constant across BC. Abiding by the Professional Standards is part of my responsibility when entering the classroom with vulnerable peoples, following these standards while on practicum and for my future role as a teacher is essential for my teaching practice. These standards are set to guide educators and help us grow as we move forward with our careers. The document highlights various standards such as the personal roles of an educator, the duty they have to their students and parents and the role the educator has within the teaching community.
